You walk up to the Burger King counter after a long day. The Whopper photo is huge, the fries smell great, and you have maybe ten seconds to decide. It is easy to just point at the picture and hope for the best.

Here's the good news. Burger King calories in India are easy to plan around once you know a few numbers. And a couple of items on the menu are surprisingly strong on protein.

I went through Burger King India's July 2026 nutrition sheet and sorted every item by calories and protein. This guide shows you what I found, which orders give you the most protein, and how to build a meal that fits your day.

This guide is about food only

It does not give medical advice. If you have diabetes, kidney disease, high blood pressure, are pregnant, or take medicines that affect your diet, talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian about what fits you.

Where these numbers come from

Most numbers here come straight from Burger King India's official nutrition sheet, linked from the burgerking.in footer. Values are rounded, and the sheet does not list fiber.

A few newer items are not on that sheet. For those, I used FatSecret India, a third-party nutrition site. I'll say "FatSecret India lists" each time, so you know which numbers are less certain.

Let me explain one idea before we dive in: protein per 100 calories. It's simply grams of protein divided by calories, times 100. A higher number means you get more protein for the same calories. It's the fastest way to compare a burger with a box of wings.

Burger King high protein picks

This is where it gets interesting. The two best protein deals are not Whoppers at all.

Chicken Tandoori Grill: the best burger for protein

Chicken tandoori grill calories come in at 395, with 31.1 g of protein. That works out to about 7.9 g of protein per 100 calories. No other burger on the official sheet comes close.

Compare it with the BK Chicken Double Patty. That one has 623 calories and only 24.2 g of protein. So the Tandoori Grill gives you more protein for 228 fewer calories.

If you only remember one Burger King order, make it this one.

Chicken Wings Grilled: the top pick overall

Chicken Wings Grilled (4 pc) give 28 g of protein for 335 calories. That's about 8.4 g of protein per 100 calories, the best ratio on the whole official sheet.

One thing surprised me. The grilled wings list 37 g of carbs, while the fried wings list only 8.6 g. The sheet doesn't say why. It may be a marinade or glaze, but this isn't confirmed.

Burger King chicken wings calories, piece by piece

If you share wings or want a different count, here's the per-piece math. These are my calculations from the 4-piece numbers. Real wings vary in size, so treat them as rough guides.

  • Grilled wing: 335 ÷ 4 = about 84 calories and 7 g of protein each.
  • Fried wing: 298 ÷ 4 = about 75 calories and 5.7 g of protein each.

Fried wings have fewer calories per piece. But they have almost twice the fat (16.9 g versus 9 g per 4 pieces) and less protein. If protein is your goal, grilled wins.

Nuggets work the same way. Chicken Nuggets (6 pc) and Chicken Nuggets (9 pc) both come out to about 36 calories and 2.3 g of protein per nugget. That's about 6.3 g of protein per 100 calories, which is decent for a side.

Whopper calories in India, compared

Here's the thing about Whoppers: the name tells you very little. Whopper calories swing a lot depending on the version.

From Burger King India's official sheet:

  • Flame Grilled Chicken Whopper Deluxe: 327 calories, 14.3 g protein
  • Crunchy Veg Whopper: 367 calories, 16 g protein
  • Peri Peri Chicken Whopper: 580 calories, 23.8 g protein

A few Whoppers are not on the official sheet. FatSecret India lists the Flame Grilled Mutton Whopper at 663 calories with 25.6 g of protein. It also lists the Korean Kimchi Chicken Whopper at 643 calories with 23.3 g of protein.

The Peri Peri Chicken Whopper has solid protein. But at about 4.1 g per 100 calories, it's roughly half as efficient as the Tandoori Grill. It also lists 1,546 mg of sodium, the highest sodium number on the official sheet.

Vegetarian options at Burger King India

Lots of people want a veg order, so let's be honest here. Veg protein at Burger King is limited.

The Crunchy Veg Whopper is the best veg pick on the official sheet: 16 g of protein for 367 calories. The Paneer Royale Burger has a bit more protein (18.5 g), but it costs 600 calories and 33.1 g of fat.

If you eat eggs, the BK Egg Burger has 10 g of protein for 251 calories. It's a light option, though not a big protein source.

Based on what I've seen, a veg meal here works best as a lighter meal. Plan to get more protein at home later in the day, from foods like dal, paneer, curd, or eggs.

Build a better Burger King meal

You don't have to give up the meal you enjoy. Small swaps make a big difference.

Swap fries for nuggets. Chicken Tandoori Grill plus Regular Fries is 599 calories and 34.7 g of protein. Swap the fries for Chicken Nuggets (6 pc) and you get 614 calories and 44.8 g of protein. That's about 10 g more protein for only 15 more calories.

Go big on protein after the gym. Chicken Tandoori Grill plus Chicken Wings Grilled (4 pc) comes to 730 calories and 59.1 g of protein.

How much protein do you need in a day? The Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2025 to 2030 list 1.2 to 1.6 g of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. For a 154 lb (70 kg) adult, that's about 84 to 112 g a day. So that one meal covers roughly half to two-thirds of it.

How long it takes to walk off a Burger King meal

This isn't a reason to "earn" your food. It's just a way to picture what the numbers mean.

The 2024 Adult Compendium of Physical Activities gives brisk walking (3.5 to 3.9 mph, or 5.6 to 6.3 km/h) a MET value of 4.8. A MET is a measure of how hard an activity is compared with sitting still. The simple formula is:

Calories burned ≈ MET × weight (kg) × hours

For a 154 lb (70 kg) person, that's 4.8 × 70 = about 336 calories per hour of brisk walking.

  • Regular Fries (204 calories): about 36 minutes
  • Chicken Tandoori Grill (395 calories): about 70 minutes
  • Peri Peri Chicken Whopper (580 calories): about 1 hour 44 minutes

These are rough estimates. Your real burn depends on your body, pace, and terrain. You can plug in your own weight and activity with the calories burned calculator.

What this means for you

If you're watching calories, a few simple rules cover most orders:

  1. Start with the Chicken Tandoori Grill or grilled wings.
  2. Pick a regular size side, or swap fries for nuggets.
  3. Check the full Burger King India menu page before you order something new.

My take on Burger King calories in India

I went in expecting the Whopper to be the protein king. It isn't. The Chicken Tandoori Grill and the grilled wings quietly beat every Whopper on the official sheet, by a wide margin.

That's genuinely good news. You can walk into Burger King, order something you enjoy, and still hit a big chunk of your protein for the day. Know your Burger King calories, lead with the grilled chicken, and you've got this.
